The Worthington Area Chamber has decided not to bring back Taste of Worthington indefinitely.
"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to bring back Taste" said Matt Lofy, Executive Director. "At the heart of our decision is that our restauranteurs are still struggling with workforce and rising overhead costs. We need to work to support them, not ask more of them."
The Chamber has hosted Taste of Worthington for the past two decades as one of their two large community events. The other is Market Day, hosted on Saturday, September 30 this year, that has taken place in historic Old Worthington for over 50 years.
Much like our area businesses, the Chamber has been in a much different place since Taste was last hosted in 2019. This decision comes as the Chamber works to become stronger as an organization in a post pandemic business climate.
"We are now an office of two since we last hosted Taste and that changes how we have to work as a Chamber," said Lofy. "This decision allows us to identify more ways to increase our business resources that directly impact our area businesses first and in return contribute to a resilient economy for greater Worthington second."
